iPhone App Review :: Camera Bag

by justing on October 9, 2009

Camera bag app This week Nevercenter’s Camera Bag for the iPhone went on sale. With new accounts on posterous & tumblr, I’ve been building up my iPhone’s camera potential to assist with the photoblogging.  I decided to make the $0.99 investment. Recently, an employee had shown me the slickness of this app and while I wasn’t impressed by the absence of finesse-able settings, I was impress with what it did do.  The camera app does do really basic, clean filters …like uber clean. Choose any photo either on the spot, or via your photo gallery and you’ve done the hardest part.  Flicking through your 9 filters you get some pre-set filters that not only look great (don’t worry, I’m not going to say, “but feel great too!”), but keeps all the quality of your original photo without adding any fuzz (a common problem I’ve had in using other free/cheap iPhone camera filters).  Anway, I suppose I can say all of this, or I can let the App speak for itself!Sid original

Meet Sid. He was kind enough to let me snap this photo off for my demonstration. Now, I noted how because I took this photo indoors with old 60 watt bulbs, the the image came out a little yellow. While this isn’t preferred, I was able to run this image through camera bag and get some very cool results regardless!

Here’s Sid, in all his filtered glory! So in just a few finger swipes, you can generate some very altered egos from one photo.  At this point, I do kind of wish I had taken the time to light Sid properly in the beginning, which might have resulted in some great photos that didn’t have a yellow-biased tint to them. But what’s done is done! If you’re on the fence about Camera Bag, for $0.99, it’s worth not passing up!

peace.
